Recall it was said the rear bench seat lids can't be split with a Lagun mount table. We did opt to split the rear bench cushions. Recieved our trailer and we see a way that we can split the rear bench seat, ourselves. It's clear to us we need to add a middle support, front to rear, for the bench lids to sit on, once the single rear lid is split into two lids. Also, adding this support is a bit tricky with the Lagun table brace in the same area, but it's not an impossible task.
Beyond adding the middle support mentioned above, are their any other major structural problems that we don't know about? It looks like an added middle support will transfer that added weight to the floor and not to the bench face, as long as we add support uprights from the floor to the added middle support.
Hi John, the engineer on our team who would be best to answer this is unavailable today. Sorry for the delay replying. We actually saw you went ahead with the modification from a post on the owner's page. We showed your solution to the engineering team today and they commented, "The customer has the right idea that a support is needed at the split and to transfer the load down to the floor." They also mentioned "The reason we don't offer this is there are some combinations of options & trailer models that result in the table brackets interfering with the crossmembers. We initially offered it and found it too challenging to manage in production."
