We read many posts online talking specifically about the MaxxFan's control board failing with voltages higher than 13.9 volts. Using Li batteries, solar controllers for Li charging, & Li capable converter charger, it's necessary to charge at voltages in the 14v range.
Has MaxxFan updated their boards for Li battery use in the 14v range?
Are any other devices/applicances in the 5.0 at risk when voltages are in the 14v range while using Li batteries & chargers? Did see mention that control boards on the water heater and furnace may also be sensitive to the14v range, like the MaxFan.
Thanks much for any further info.
Hi John, sorry for the delay in answering. I needed to consult with our engineering team on the electrical questions. Yes, the MaxxFan circuit boards have been updated to handle voltage up to 15.5 volts. The converter outputs 14.6V to the lithium battery but the DC branch circuits which the appliances, lights etc. are all at the 13.6V when under load. This fits the specification for our DC systems.
