    Question #1: Refrigerator ignition

    in Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know when the ”spark electrode” or the ignition system needs maintenance or isn’t working properly?

Explanation: We stopped one night at a primitive campground and wanted to use propane gas for all our needs that night. We turned on the refrigerator, which tried to startup using the AUTO, then AC, but wouldn’t switch to GAS right away. I turned off the AC/DC switch and then the light turned on to GAS, but we heard no clicking of the ignition to light the pilot to the refrigerator. We tried turning off the refrigerator, and turning it on again, but we did not hear the ignition turning on. The refrigerator didn’t cool down very well that night. Next night we camped at a hookup campsite, and the refrigerator was able to turn on using AC. The subsequent night, we tried just the propane again as a power source, and heard very weak clicking of the ignition switch. So, how do we check the ignition system to make sure it’s working properly?
