I'm trying to decide between the E19 and E21NE. It's just the two of us with hopefully an occasional grandchild when they get older. We plan to stay mostly at National and State Parks. We will tow with an SUV. I'm most concerned about the smaller dinette in the E19. I also don't want to need side mirror extensions. Any advice? Thanks.

Phil,
One of the things I can suggest is to look up Fiberglass Camper Rallys (Facebook) or, as some are called 'Egg Rallys'. I have attended several of the 'Florida Egg Rally & S' More' events and had a grand time! I 'camped' out of a local hotel and joined the group during the day. It was there that I was able to talk to folks about their campers and view all brands of fiberglass units. It was on the basis of what I learned there, that I decided on an Escape. Once the group learned that I was looking to purchase a camper, the members were super-gracious in opening up their campers and allowing me to view their rigs. I saw all kinds!
One of the last rallys I attended was just prior to completing my build sheet. I went with the mission in mind to talk to other Escape owners and pick their brains. It was a great weekend! After that, I came home and knew exactly what I wanted! The Rallys have been a great resource. Not sure what state you live in, but I do know that 'Egg Rallys' are popping up all over. You might want to check 'em out! I've also met some super people along the way. Can't wait 'til the next rally - this time with my own rig!!!
Hi Phil, I was in the same boat 18 months ago. I am retired and will be traveling alone most of the time. However, I will also be meeting up with family and friends and wanted to have it manageable enough for me to handle but spacious enough to entertain. The three best bits of advice I can give you (that were given to me) are:
1) If possible, view both units through Escape Ambassadors.
2) Always look at resale and what you feel might be more 'in-demand' ... and
3) Don't get caught up in 'two-foot-itis'! Smiles!
I decided on the 21NE and will (finally!) receive it on Thursday. FYI - I also decided not to order the permanent bed but, instead, have two dinettes. I had a Marine Pedestal installed under the back dinette to make it easier to convert into a bed. And ... it gives me more livable space during the day. It's slso easier for me to access 'under-bench' storage than 'under-bed storage'.
I just measured the width of my 21NE earlier today. I was (also) thinking about side mirror extensions. The width of the 21NE is 88" or 7.3' wide. I drive a Lincoln Navigator and the 21NE will protrude out approx. 4.5 inches past each side of my vehicle. Not sure if I will need the mirrored extensions? Guess I'll find out on Thursday! But, I also ordered the back camera and that should really help with the visability.
Good luck on your decision. I don't think you can make a mistake either way. The Escape is a beautiful trailer and I know you will be happy. God bless and ... safe travels!
